Information we collect
- Account information such as name, email address, authentication provider, and app user ID.
- Vocabulary content you create or import, including lists, words, meanings, examples, notes, favorites, mastery status, and practice settings.
- Photos or images you choose to analyze or save, plus AI-generated labels, translations, bounding boxes, and image memory metadata.
- Practice activity such as answers, scores, streaks, review cadence, pronunciation transcripts, and pronunciation assessment results.
- Device and app data needed for sync, reminders, diagnostics, security, and push notifications.
- Subscription information from Google Play and RevenueCat, including product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal state, and transaction metadata.
- Support messages sent to support@vocbook.app, including email address, subject, message body, and attachments you include.
Camera, microphone, and accessibility
Camera access is used for visual vocabulary capture. Microphone access is used for pronunciation practice. Micro-Learn, when enabled by you, uses Android accessibility access to detect launches of selected apps and show quick vocabulary challenges. Vocbook does not read screen content, automate actions, or store the target app package/name in Firestore for Micro-Learn answer events.
AI and third-party processing
Some features send selected text, images, or speech to service providers so the feature can work. These may include Firebase and Google Cloud services, Google AI/Gemini for language and visual assistance, Azure Speech for pronunciation assessment, Pexels for image search, RevenueCat for subscriptions, Google Play for payments, Resend for support email, and Vercel for this website.
How we use information
- Provide account sign-in, cloud sync, vocabulary collections, imports, sharing, and app settings.
- Generate translations, examples, similar words, synonyms, antonyms, image detections, and pronunciation feedback.
- Track learning progress, prepare daily review, personalize practice, and send reminders you enable.
- Process subscriptions, restore purchases, verify premium access, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
- Maintain security, troubleshoot errors, comply with legal obligations, and improve product quality.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate Vocbook, comply with law, protect rights and safety, process payments, or complete a request you make.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and learning data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual words and collections in the app where available. To request account deletion or broader data deletion, use the delete account and data deletion pages. Some records may be retained when required for legal, tax, fraud prevention, dispute, security, or payment integrity reasons.
Website cookies and analytics
This website is designed as a lightweight product and legal surface. It does not set advertising cookies by default. Vercel and basic hosting infrastructure may process request logs, IP address, user agent, and similar technical data for security, delivery, and diagnostics.
Children
Vocbook is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. Contact us at support@vocbook.app and we will respond according to applicable law.
Changes
We may update this policy as Vocbook changes. If the update is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the app, website, or email.
